So I have been very busy with wedding details lately, trying to make sure and finalize all the small things that are still in limbo. I am so very happy to say that all my girls have ordered their dresses! (BIG WIN) I am also happy to say that flights have been booked. (CANT WAIT) and I am buying the centerpieces and accessories for the wedding in the next few weeks.
We had our invitations come in and they are ready to be stamped and sent out. I will be sendng these out after valentines day. I am passing out our save the dates this week. I feel so good about planning ahead. There are soooooo many things that you don't think about until you come across it.
I am also happy to say that we have finally decided where we are going for our honeymoon and will have it book in the next week.
I am having my bridal session the first week of february so that I will have my photos back in time to get them into a frame. My photographer ROCKS! I can't wait to work with her. I am also testing makeup, and hair styles. You can never be tooooo prepared, or try to many looks, for such a big event.
Well that is a small update for those of you who are checking, I hope to see there.
I would love to see some pictures of your wedding! Your blog has truly helped me stay sane throughout the wedding planning process. I have checked into so many vendors, but haven't been getting prompt responses. My wedding won't be nearly as big as yours (50-60 people), but I really, really, REALLY want to have an outdoor wedding with an inside reception. I am currently torn between the Randle T. Moore Center and El Karubah. I love the waterfront view at EK, but I also love the floral scenery and backdrop at the RTM Center. I have a very small family and his family is massive, so they will consume 80% of the guest list! We decided long ago to have a beach wedding in Florida, but sacrificed it to accommodate our friends and family. Now we're having a hard to find the "perfect" place again.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm so happy that I could have been some help, and I will be posting some pictures soon so that you can see the result. The El Karubah was gorgeous. The water was perfect, the breeze, everything, but let me say that if you have a small party 50-60 the El Karubah will be too big. We had over 100 people and it still seemed somewhat empty. The Randall T Moore, may seem a little cramped, the house holds 80 BUT on two levels. If you are planning a Shreveport wedding also check out the Gazebos, which is great for small weddings, and will give you the outside/inside feel. Check also the American Rose Garden, but if your wedding is this year your date may be taken. Also the Barnwell Garden and art center, they have a beautiful patio that is outside, has the red river as a background and offers inside reception. Also I found the goddess of wedding planners who will do as much or little that you need. She is local and made my wedding stress ease. If you want I can pass your information to her. Just let me know. Good luck and many blessings.
ReplyDeleteIDK if you still check for comments here but I wanted you to know I really enjoyed this blog about your wedding experience. I found it while searching for venues for my own small wedding in March 2015. I am interested in receiving the contact info of your planner. Would you send that to me at hhprplhayes@gmail.com ? Also I am going to try and book your photographer. All your pictures are wonderful. I hope you and your family have continued to be blessed. Thanks for all the great information! -Holly
